What Dramina is and what it is used for Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine. Dramamina is used for: – prevention of nausea, vomiting and/or dizziness associated with motion sickness. – prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting from other causes (except in the case of taking an antineoplastic drug). Before you start using Dramina: Do not take Dramina - if you are allergic to dimenhydrinate or any other component of the medicine. Be careful with Dramana Inform your doctor if you have a chronic disease, metabolic disorder, if you are hypersensitive or if you are taking other medicines. Dramina should be used with caution in patients with convulsions, as well as in those in whom the anticholinergic effect of dimenhydrinate can worsen the underlying disease (angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, bronchial asthma). Dimenhydrinate can mask the symptoms of ototoxicity, so special care is needed when using it with ototoxic drugs. How to use Dramana Follow the instructions! Prevention At least 30 minutes before the planned trip or the use of a drug that is difficult to tolerate: - adults and children over 14 years: 50-100 mg (1-2 tablets), - children aged 5-14 years: 25-50 mg (1/2 -1 tablet). If necessary, the dose can be taken again, every 4-6 hours. Nausea and vomiting Adults and children older than 14 years: 50-100 mg (1-2 tablets), every 4-6 hours if needed, but not more than 400 mg per day Children aged 5-14 years: 25 -50 mg (1/2 -1 tablet), every 4-6 hours if needed, but not more than 150 mg per day. In elderly people, the drug should be used in the lowest recommended dose for adults, because they are sensitive to the anticholinergic effect of the drug. Treatment should be as short as possible. The medicine can be taken independently of taking food. The tablets should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of liquid (eg water).
