St. John's wort contains a variety of biologically active compounds and has several pharmacological properties such as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and astringent. Due to these properties, St. John's wort reduces tissue inflammation and increases the tissue's regenerative properties, which leads to faster re-epithelialization and restoration of elasticity. It helps to remove itching, leukorrhea and other signs of inflammation in gynecological practice. It acts favorably in the following conditions: vaginal inflammations with increased vaginal discharge; changes in the mucous membrane of the cervix followed by inflammation; degenerative changes of the cervical and vaginal mucosa after radiation therapy; changes in the vaginal mucosa in conditions of vaginal dryness of various origins, due to hormonal imbalance or menopause.
