One capsule of Silymarin contains 156.7-191.6 mg of extract (as dry extract, refined unstandardized) of Silybum marianum L.Gaertner, fructus (milk thistle fruit) (24-27:1) corresponding to 100 mg of silymarin expressed as silibinin. Silymarin is a herbal medicine based on the milk thistle fruit. It is issued without a prescription. SILYMARIN capsules are used in liver function disorders in the following diseases and conditions: - chronic hepatitis B and C (inflammatory liver disease) - liver damage due to exposure to alcohol with cessation of intake of alcoholic beverages in the body - cirrhosis of the liver liver What you should know before using the medicine SILYMARIN Do not use the medicine SILYMARIN if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of the medicine. Silymarin is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age due to a lack of data on the safety and/or efficacy of the drug. Taking the medicine SILYMARIN with food or drink SILIMARIN capsules should be taken after a meal. It is not recommended to consume alcoholic beverages during therapy with silymarin capsules. Pregnancy and breastfeeding Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine! During pregnancy, SILYMARIN capsules can be used only when it is strictly indicated and in agreement with the doctor. Due to insufficient data, the use of silymarin capsules is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Influence on the ability to drive and operate machines There are no data on the influence of silymarin capsules on the ability to drive vehicles or machines. Use of other medicines (what to watch out for if you use other medicines) Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, or have recently taken, any other medicines, even those not prescribed by a doctor. Although silymarin capsules do not affect the action of other medicines and vice versa, tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking or have recently taken, including those you have bought without a doctor's prescription. If you are admitted to the hospital, inform the competent doctor that you are using SYLMARIN capsules, as well as any other medicines that you are using.
