Camphart cream contains camphor, methyl salicylate, benzyl nicotinate and menthol, four well-known substances from the group of local irritant agents (rubifaciens), whose action complements each other. Shortly after application to the skin, these substances induce vasodilation of blood vessels and increase blood flow to the affected area, causing redness and mild skin irritation. The local temperature rises, followed by a slight burning sensation. The pain, either superficial or deeper, is reduced mainly through the process of skin irritation, and the feeling of heat in the treated area contributes to the reduction of pain.
