When eight-year-old Daisy Mason disappears from her family home in Oxford during a masquerade party, Inspector Adam Foley knows that in nine out of ten cases, the kidnapper is someone close to the family. And Daisy's family is decidedly strange – her mother is obsessed with the impression they make on others, and her father is cold and defensive during interrogation. And there is Daisy's little brother, so withdrawn and uncommunicative... Detective Adam Foley does his best to find any trace of the little girl, knowing that every second counts, but it feels like the child has sunk into the ground - no one has seen nothing; nobody knows absolutely anything. On the other hand, everyone has their own opinion and it seems that everyone has some secret they are hiding... especially family members.
