Morgan has a child born far too young. Because of that child, she is married to her first high school boyfriend and her whole life is a calm, predictable and somewhat monotonous song. She and her sixteen-year-old daughter Clara are terribly different and don't even want to be alike. Morgan, like any mother of a teenage girl, wants to make sure her daughter doesn't make the same mistakes she did when she got pregnant too soon and had to put all her dreams on hold. But Clara does not want to follow in her mother's footsteps. She even despises her mother because she thinks that she does not know what spontaneity is, that she is terribly boring. The only person who can bring some peace into their lives is Chris – Morgan's husband and Clara's father, who is actually the anchor of the family. But the peace suddenly disappears when Chris has a tragic (and suspicious) car accident. The gap between mother and daughter widens further as secrets, painful revelations, misunderstandings and new love begin to pile up. It seems that those two will never find their way back to each other again…
