Inositol is a nutrient from the B-vitamin family. It is mostly present in walnuts, peanuts and citrus fruits. It is a key component of the cell membrane and is therefore involved in sending signals between cells. In particular, inositol increases the sensitivity of various receptors. One cell releases chemicals (a "message") that is delivered to another cell to perform an action. However, if the other cell cannot receive the message, the chemical reaction is useless. Here, inositol has a major role to prepare the receptors to receive this message. The form of inositol used in this product is Myo-Inositol, the most concentrated form of this nutrient. Inositol is present in all cell membranes, with the highest concentrations in the brain and central nervous system, where it plays an important role in neurotransmitter signaling.
