MenoQUICK© is a rapid test for home use and intended for the detection of human follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in a urine sample. The test helps assess whether existing symptoms are caused by menopause (perimenopause/menopause). Menopause refers to the time in a woman's life when she stops menstruating. The time leading up to menopause is called perimenopause. Clinically, menopause is defined as the point at which a woman has not had a period for 12 consecutive months. Menopause is a natural physiological process during a woman's life, which in most cases occurs between 45 and 55 years. The signs vary between women: some may recognize their menopause from irregular menstruation, which eventually stops altogether. Others notice changes in their lives caused by symptoms such as hot flashes, hair loss, sleep disturbances or vaginal dryness. Before the menstrual cycle stops completely, in many cases the menstrual cycles become irregular. This often leads to pregnancy at menopause, as many women mistakenly believe they are already infertile. The FSH hormone stimulates the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles during the menstrual cycle. In women with a normal, regular cycle, FSH levels fluctuate, reaching peak levels of approx. 25 mIU/mL at mid-cycle. Menopause is marked by the change in the level of sex hormones and the resulting symptoms. As the body produces less and less estrogen (these hormones cause ovulation, among other effects), FSH production increases, in order to increase estrogen production in the ovaries. This leads to elevated FSH levels, averaging approximately 66.5 mIU/ml – 91.6 mIU/ml (Time of last bleeding / 2 years after last bleeding) Randolph et al. J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2011-96:746-754. MenoQUICK© allows you to determine your FSH concentration to determine if you are in climacteric (perimenopause or menopause). Then you can take the necessary steps to stay healthy and reduce the medical risks associated with menopause, such as osteoporosis, hypertension, or elevated blood cholesterol. As an immunochromatographic rapid test, MenoQUICK© detects the presence of FSH values above 25 mIU/ml in a urine sample. If the sample contains FSH, it will bind to anti-FSH antibodies on the test line. Through the interaction with colloidal gold labeled anti-FSH-antibodies a visible red line (T-line) is formed. The test also contains a control system with a control line (C-line). To correctly determine and interpret the results, it is necessary to carefully read the instructions. All details should be understood before the test is performed. The package contains: 2 test cassettes (FSH 25 mIU/ml) with 2 pipettes and a desiccant bag in a sealed pouch 1 instruction pamphlet Included as a separate package: 1 Urine collection container
