The mineral active ingredient calamine has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect, relieves itching, soothes the skin and creates a protective barrier on its damaged areas. Since calamine is insoluble in water and fat, it does not penetrate and does not accumulate in the skin. Combined with L-arginine, it reduces the sensitivity of irritated skin to external factors. Arginine is a partially replaceable amino acid involved in the intracellular synthesis of NO (nitric oxide), which plays a biological role in stimulating angiogenesis and combating inflammatory processes.
