Optim Curcuma is a dietary supplement in the form of 30 capsules, each of which contains 400 mg of the active ingredient Longvida ® . The Longvida ® ingredient is a patented formulation of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, developed by scientists and physicians at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). A patented process called SCLP (Solid-Lipid Curcumin Particle) uses natural lecithin to coat curcumin powder to form small particles that increase the absorption of "free" curcumin, its active form. Longvida ® optimized curcumin has been shown in studies to have up to 65 times greater bioavailability compared to standard curcumin. It has also been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier, which may make it effective for neurological conditions. Longvida ® has a plasma half-life of approximately 7 hours, which is longer than that of unformulated curcumin (which typically has a half-life of less than one hour). Composition: Each 400 mg capsule contains 80 mg of curcumin. Method of use: The recommended daily dose is one capsule of 400 mg, taken before a meal, with a maximum of 2 capsules per day for a faster effect. The product should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding and a doctor's advice should be sought in case of liver or gall bladder disease or in case of simultaneous use of drugs.
